10 Reasons ‘Rick and Morty’ is the Best Damn Show on TV

Rick and Morty

What’s up, Rick and Morty fans?! After catching up on the last couple episodes of Season 3, I decided to write this piece on the 10 Reasons ‘Rick and Morty’ is the Best Damn Show on TV, for no other reason than I thought it might be fun, and that, well, I absolutely adore the hell out of this crazy ass show! The great thing is, I know I’m not alone either.

Really, I was predisposed to love Rick and Morty. I was a massive, massive fan of Community, and as soon as I heard the premise for Dan Harmon’s next show, I was all in. However, what I discovered when I started watching this show was that I had no f—ing idea what I was getting into, in the best possible way. What, at first, appeared to be a mere Back to the Future take-off, with characters clearly inpired by Doc Brown (if he was shit-faced all the time) and Marty McFly (but far less cool), turned out to be one of the single most enjoyable television experiences I’ve ever had. It is consistently the smartest, funniest, darkest, craziest, most emotionally-engaging show on TV… and it’s a freakin’ cartoon! This show just puts all others to shame.

We’re only three seasons into Rick and Morty, but I already have no problem putting it in my own personal Top 5 Favorites Shows of All Time list, alongside shows like Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Batman: The Animated Series and another relative newcomer, Game of Thrones. I can’t think of any other show that I’ve laughed harder at or binge-watched from beginning to end as many times as I have this show. This show makes me do things I wouldn’t ordinarily do. Insane, unthinkable things. Like, for instance, I can’t remember the last time I put together a puzzle, but when I got that Rick and Morty puzzle in my Loot Crate a couple years ago, you best believe I put together the shit out of that bad boy! I’m sure there are other things, but now I’m just enraged all over again remembering how pissed off I was to discover I was missing a piece of that puzzle. One f—ing piece!

If three or four months go by in which I haven’t watched every single episode of Rick and Morty that’s out there, I start to question all my life choices. Usually, it’s just best to take a day to get my Rick and Morty on with a vengeance in order to avoid the crippling depression that I will no doubt slip into. I’m not 100% sure that will happen, mind you, mostly because I’ve never let things get that dire, but I’m not willing to take that risk. I can only imagine what kind of hell a life like that could be. I don’t want to live in a world devoid of happiness and joy. I’ll just mainline it in 22 minute doses, thank you very much.

Alright, by now, you’re probably saying, “Show me what you got!!!” So, with no further ado, and in no particular order, here is my list of the 10 Reasons ‘Rick and Morty’ is the Best Damn Show on TV…
